Britain's top 25 employers revealed

A new study of employer ratings and reviews on Indeed, has revealed that Apple has come top of the list of the most popular UK private sector businesses to work for. This could be thanks to its notorious combination of an enjoyable work culture, good rates of pay and discounted Apple tech.

Wren Kitchens came second, rewarding the North East based firm for consistently valuing and treating its employees well.

Bill Richards, UK Managing Director, Indeed noted that firms that performed well had certain factors in common. He said:

“The difference between a good job and a great job can vary from person to person, but our ranking shows some common themes shine through."

“Companies that make their employees feel valued and offer a positive working environment score consistently highly among the reviews posted on Indeed.

“As we continue to see for many staff, work-life balance, career prospects and a great workplace culture can all mean more than a good salary alone. There was good news for domestic-based firms as they made up two-thirds of the list.”

With UK unemployment at record low levels, it is more important than ever for employers to make sure they are getting positive reviews, as according to a separate report by Indeed earlier this year, almost three quarters of job seekers will not even apply for a job role until they’ve researched the company’s reputation online.
